Job profile

• Head coach for the clubs department of artistic gymnastics WAG or MAG with the responsibility of the development of the department – the elite as well as upcoming talents and beginners.

• Training elite gymnasts at Danish top level. Several VIK-gymnasts take part of the
Danish National Team and participate in Nordic, European and World Championships

• Participation in training assemblies and competitions – national as well as international

• Supervise and assist other MAG/WAG coaches of VIK – assisting in the overall planning of training sessions as well as supervising and teaching local coaches of correct training techniques etc.

• In VIK-gymnastics the good relationship and cooperation between MAG and WAG is a priority and our new head coaches must be willing to continue this cooperation with the other head coach and assist in the training of male as well as female gymnasts.

• Working hours: 30 hours weekly, mainly early afternoon and evening

• 1-2 years contract starting august 2012

Qualifications of head coaches:
• Degree in physical education or similar.

• Experience in training WAG or MAG at elite level

• Basic knowledge of spoken English

• Age: 35-55 years

The salary will be agreed in relation to working hours and responsibilities.
VIK will assist you in all practical matters during your stay in Denmark such as obtaining work permit, medical records, finding accommodation etc (rent and local transportation is not covered by VIK).

About VIK-gymnastics

VIK-gymnastics is situated in the second largest city of Denmark – the beautiful city of Aarhus (400.000 inhabitants – www.visitaarhus.dk).VIK-gymnastics has approximately 800 active members within diverse gymnastic disciplines all training in the Center of Gymnastics and Trampoline of Aarhus (www.springhallen.dk).
The department of artistic gymnastics has approximately 40 MAG gymnasts and 20 WAG gymnasts between the age of 5 and 30 years. The elite currently counts 10-15 male gymnasts between the age of 11 and 25 and 5-10 female gymnasts age 8-17. 9 male gymnasts are part of the Danish national team (senior and junior) as are 3 of the female gymnasts, which is the result of 10 years working with professional Russian coaches.

It is the ambition of the VIK-gymnastics department of artistic gymnastics to expand the department and develop a strong department with a large and diversified group of athletes – elite as well as beginners and talents. (For more information see: www.vik-gym.dk)
