The Opportunity: AGC Director/Coach
• We are seeking a candidate with a unique skill set: someone with the ability to oversee all aspects of our gymnastics programs, including program effectiveness, hiring coaches, scheduling, budget preparation, together with the ability and proven expertise to spot high level gymnastic skills and to coach High performance Gymnasts.

Management and Administrative Duties - 30% of duties
• Accountable to and to collaborate with the Board of Directors (BOD) for setting the Strategic Direction of the Club for all programs
• Supervise all AGC program(s) from a technical perspective; MAG, WAG, Trampoline & Tumbling, Demo/Acro, Recreation programs.
• Evaluate each program’s effectiveness and liaise with program directors about children’s progress
• Ensure codes of conduct for coaches for AGC, AGF and Gymnastics Canada are followed
• Keep up to date on each program’s technical rules, ensure programs respect of AGC Philosophy, and ensure every Program aligns with the AGC general goals.
• Provide general technical direction to every Program. This is not necessarily the techniques and skills specific each program but rather general guidelines to keep consistency across all programs within the club, in accordance with club goals and values.
• Accountable for facilitating and scheduling meetings with Head/Leaders of each program to plan the upcoming season and through the competitive year as required.
• Collaborate with the Head/Lead of each program to plan the goals of the respective programs for upcoming year and present on behalf of the programs to the Board of Directors.
• Accountable for each program’s provisional budget and the office/administrative budget. Ensure that programs are viable from a budget, staff, resource and schedule perspective.
• Supervise and collaborate with the Business Manager to put both provisional budgets together and create one AGC provisional budget to present to the AGC BOD
• Approve and organize if necessary the general AGC calendar.
• Ensure that the programs and business office all work and communicate together cohesively and be the final decision maker prior to engaging the BOD.
• Responsible for setting and reviewing the safety policies of the club, and for ensuring they are respected by all staff.
• Collaborate with Head/Leads of each program to establish an environment that attracts and retains coaching staff as well as athletes. Strive for consistency, respect, and professional attitudes across the organization.
• Responsibility for the building and executing the Communication Plan for the Club, including:
o Program with parents, Program with Program, Program with Admin., Program with BOD.
• Supervise and evaluate all coaches working within the competitive program
• Attend and present reports at assigned Board of Director Meetings
Coaching Responsibilities – 70% of duties
• Analyze and evaluate athletes skills and performance
• Observe and evaluate prospective athletes
• Test and select gymnasts ready to join the competitive program
• Coach Provincial, National and High Performance level athletes
• Attend provincial, and national gymnastics events
• Ensure the safety of athletes and coaches in the gym
Skills Knowledge and Education required
• Minimum of 3 years management / administrative experience.
• National, Provincial, and High performance level of coaching experience
• Minimum 10+ years’ coaching experience in both Men’s & Women’s gymnastics
• Proven expertise in spotting high level gymnastic skills
• Certified NCCP level 3 coach (National Coaching certification Level 3)
• Excellent customer service, supervisory, interpersonal communication and organizational skills are required.
• Superior decision making, problem solving, strategic planning and analysis skills.
• Proven team building & training and conflict management skills.
• Proficient in operating computer systems and software.
